Milo

7/31/10
Everyone who sees Milo knows that he is something special. He has a very regal demeanor.  He has a quiet eye and knows what he will and won't do. He was ridden for the first time today. The pictures speak for themselves. He never panicked when the saddle slipped (we were riding in the rain, after all!) and continued to work well once the saddle was righted. Derek was ground man and Troy's back up, allowing Troy to focus on Milo, letting Milo know that he was okay and that he was safe with a rider on his back.

Milo was worked today in the round pen. He willingly accepted a saddle and a bridle. He bucked initially when girthed up, but calmed down quickly. He took the bit with ease. While Troy did not get on Milo today, he stood in the stirrup and let Milo get used to having weight across his back. Next weekend, Troy, with his backup, will ride Milo, so look back soon for an update! And yes. . . Troy and Milo did "join up".

I finally got some pictures of Milo outside.  What a beauty!  He is easy to catch and is just a sweetheart.  We were told he has been started under saddle, and he should be great to  keep going.  This boy has "presence", come see him in person!!

The pictures just do not do Milo justice.  This boy really has a presence to him that you don't see everyday.  He leads, picks up his feet, and loves to be groomed.  Hopefully we will know more about him soon.  He is a very special horse who deserves so much more than we can give him.

Thank you Shannon!
